Coordination meeting: Arrangements to supply power in hot season discussed

The coordination meeting on the arrangements to supply electricity in coming hot, dry inter-monsoonal period in Yangon Region was held at the Head Office of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation in the morning on 27th November.

At the meeting, the Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han gave an opening remark.In his opening remark, the Union Minister said that it’s needed to plan the arrangements to supply electricity even though the supply man not fulfill the public’s need of electricity for a day but to share the supply with the scheduled time, as the role of substations is important to supply fully and not to occur the power outage during the scheduled time, it’s required to conduct the maintenance in advance.

Moreover, the maintenance and upgrading works including the cleaning of power lines should be carried out prior to the period to mitigate the power outages and lower losses, stable and improved power supply. There should be back up plan to substitute when a power line occur a fault etc.

Next, the managing director of the Electric Power Generation Enterprise, director general of the department of power transmission and system control, district electricity manager and engineers clarified the status of power transmission, electric power supply to the districts and townships and the arrangements to supply electric power in coming hot, dry inter-monsoonal period and the chairman of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, region minister for natural resources and the director generals and managing directors from relevant departments and enterprises supplemented necessaries.
