New National Education: 2-day forum on engineering education programs

Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw addressed the opening of “Engineering Education Programs for New National Education System” forum.

In his address at the forum jointly conducted by the Ministry and the Myanmar Engineering Council in Yangon, the Union Minister said that for educational reform, curriculums are being developed based on the KG+12 system; technological universities are currently preparing their current teaching curricula in order to match the new system; and it is necessary to take into account of qualification and industrial skills in reforming technical subjects.

Also, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than explained the content of engineering education development through a virtual system, and Chairman of the Myanmar Engineering Council and experts made discussions on development of engineering education. This 2-day forum is joined by about 300 rectors, pro-rectors, professors and heads from universities and colleges and invited guests.
