




Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe together with officials conducted a field trip in Bago Region for development of paddy and green gram cultivation and production with the State economic promotion fund in line with the guidance of the Prime Minister.
During the trip, the Union Minister together with Bago Region Chief Minister U MyoSwe Win and party met farmers and discussed implementation for achieving green grams and summer paddy projects.
At the meeting, the Union Minister discussed measures for inputs, fertilizers and pesticides that are necessary for farmers, resale and payment of rice and green gram equal to the value of fertilizers and pesticides by farmers according to the market price, supervision on getting inputs for farmers within the target time and not to losses.
The Union Minister also added that the duties will be assigned to relevant departments, organizations and farmer syndicates and called for concerned officials to work together for agriculture sector development.
The Bago Region Chief Minister said that it is targeted to cultivate 150,000 acres of green grams and 200,000 acres of summer paddy in Bago Region and also discussed plans for achieving the project, measures for no loss of loans and measures to be taken to recover loans from the Agricultural Development Bank and plans to supervise for achieving the project.
He also coordinated essentials on the reports of farmers. The Union Minister and party then visited Intagaw where he met farmer syndicates who will cultivate green gram, entrepreneurs and cooperative society members and coordinated the needs.
