Boosting Bilateral Ties: PM receives Indian Foreign Secretary

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India Mr. Vinay Mohan Kwatra at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

At the meeting, they discussed cooperation in border security, peace and stability of the two countries and promoting bilateral cooperation, defence sector, enhancing bilateral relations, cooperation for development of agriculture techniques, trade and investments, implementation of Kalatan River route project and measures for direct trade on sea route, border area development and efforts for enabling to make direct payments in the currencies of the two countries such as Rupee and Kyats in trade  activities.

They also exchanged views on taking the state responsibilities by the State Administration in accordance with2008 Constitution due to voting frauds in the 2020 General Election and implementing the tasks in line with 5-point Road Map and endeavouring for promoting international relations including neighboring countries.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister and the Indian Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs exchanged commemorative gifts. Also present at the meeting were Joint Secretary the State Administration Council Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo and Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Shri Saurabh Kumar.
