Myeik Archipelago: Increase in tourists’ interest to Myeik Archipelago

There are numerous pleasant islands in Myeik archipelago. The Myeik islands are increasingly attracting the tourists and there are great potentials for the booming of tourism industry in Myeik archipelago.

The Myeik archipelago situated on the southern Taninthayi Division of Myanmar .It consists of more than 800 islands, varying in size from very small to hundreds of square kilometres, all lying in the Andaman Sea off the western shore of the Malay Peninsula near its landward (northern) end where it joins the rest of Indochina.

Chairman, Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association, NaungNaung Han, said " The travel companies in Myeikhave experiencedCovid-19 bouts. Now, thecompanies resume travel operations for local visitors. As the local visitors, they travel from Yangon to Myiek-Kawthaung via flight. When they arrived there, they took a ship. the ship passenger capacity is around 8 or 9 guests.At there, there are different kinds of trips and places.

As foreigners, they want to sleep on the island andthey need more times to spend.So, we arranged a 3-4 days trip for them. The travel companies are ready to run for the open season because they already done preparations to resume operation."
