




Beikthano Archaeological Museum is situated in Taungdwingyi Township in Magway Region. 442 archaeological artifacts including those of Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age excavated from the Beikthano ancient city are displayed in the museum.
The Beikthano Museum was opened in 2008 to display the excavated Cultural heritages of Beikthno and Pyu ancient city states. The Beikthno ancient Pyu city is one of the World Heritage-listed three Pyu ancient cities acknowledged by UNESCO on 22nd June, 2014.
Phyo Pyae Ko Ko, Assistant director, Department of Archaeology and National Museum, said " The entrance fee is free for local visitors and will be collected 5,000 kyats per one for foreigners. There were about 1,500 visitors visited the museum during October this year.
During the SAC Chairman Prime Minister’s Magway region Trip, the prime minister gave instructions to unearth the artifacts and carry out the maintenance processes. As implementing of the instructions, we have excavated land plot no-42 at the westernmost city entrance of the southern city wall in the 2022-23 Fiscal Year."
The museum opens daily between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm, except Mondays and the gazette holidays.
