Efforts for Greening: MoNREC Union Minister inspected forest conservations

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi inspected the completion of constructing new office of the director of Dry zone Greening Department, Magwe Region and nurturing 85000 Tamar saplings and over 33000 saplings of drought forest species at the region Myoma permanent nursery in the morning on 13th November.

Next, the union minister inspected the thriving of village’s firewood plantation in Daung Ne extended public protected forest and nurturing saplings of drought forest species.In the afternoon, the union minister instructed the officials upon their clarifications on the project data and status of work implementation at the Yaynan Chaung special greening zone project in the Nat Kan Oo public protected forest in Yaynan Chaung Township.

Next, the union minister inspected status of surviving and growing 2020 supplemented special green plantation and 2/2022 supplemented special green plantation, protection of 2000 acres of Nat Kan Oo Yinma Chaung natural forest remnants and the 20 acres of model Tama plantation.

Yay Nan Chaung Special Greening Project was initiated in 2019-2020 fiscal year and protection of natural forest remnants, educating local residents to cooperate in the forest preservation works, filling the blanks of forest remnants and research works on growing of forest species and being harmonious are being implemented.

Magwe region has nurtured over 3 million saplings of various forest trees for the establishment of plantation in 2023 monsoon season, filling the blanks, growing trees in mass movements and distribution to the public, it’s learnt.
