



State Administration Council held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered an address, highlighting the holding of peace talks with ten Ethnic Armed Organizations including NCA-Signatories and Non NCA-Signatories, and hoping to reach an agreement by this December which could help for the preparation process for the election.
For the economic development, the Prime Minister stressed the needs for development of MSME businesses, boosting production with the use of raw materials from agriculture and livestock sectors, loan disbursement and extension of repayment period and human resource development. He reiterated the needs to promote trading with border route sea routes for economic progress of the country.
The Prime Minister also said the efforts for holding the election in the designated time in a free and fair manner with the use of Proportional Representation (PR) System.
The Council members later discussed the amendment of Counter Terrorism Law 2014, accuracy of basic voter list, early formation of election sub-commission, preparation for practicing PR system, action to be taken on illegal jade mining, reviewing the tax collection on the sales of gems and jade, granting the exploration of rare earth by designating tax amount, providing capital and other assistance for development of agriculture sector, amendment of election law, availability of water for drinking and agriculture purposes, implementation of spillway project on ThanLwin River, broadcasting of winning events at the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Art Competition during the pre-period of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day on MRTV, MSME development in Rakhine State, prevention measures for terrorist acts and organizing 2022 Christmas Festival in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Council Secretary also discussed the registration of political parties as well as the amending and supplementing the law. The Prime Minister made a conclusion remark, saying that preparation measures have been carrying out step by step for successful holding the election, and the amendment for the tenure of election commission could only be at the Hluttaw session.
He added the prevention of illegal jade and rare earth mining plots will be prevented, assessment for ThanLwin River Spillway project, amendment of political party registration law, broadcasting of the performing art events, holding of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day in a grand manner and effective implementation of security measures.
He said 1,259 million US dollars debt have already been paid back during the State Administration Council tenure with the incomes from trading, foreign investments and taxation. He urged all to make strenuous efforts for development of economy, boosting production and exports while striving for successful holding of free and fair election.
He stressed that to achieve all these matters, all concerned persons needed to strive for ensuring smooth and secure transportation, rule of law and stability.
