






A coordination meeting on establishing fast-growing forest plantations for producing papers in local and bamboo production was held at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation on Thursday.
Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi and Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than delivered opening remarks respectively. Officials of the No.3 Heavy Industry and the Forestry Department reported the needs of raw logs and bamboos for producing papers in local for the Paper factories and establishing forest plantations and bamboo production.
Those present at the meeting also reported timber yeild per acre, estimated cost per for one acre, annual production amount, the timber species that can grow depending on the location of the paper factories, the prospects to establish state-owned and private-owned industrial raw plantations, the number of bamboos annually produced from natural forests and estimated value and kind of bamboos that are suitable to grow regionally on which the Union Ministers coordinated essential.
