Religious Ceremony: Sagaing Region Government organizes rice offering

The consecration ceremony of YarPyae Kat Kyaw Pagoda in Monywa was held at the prayer hall of the pagoda in conjunction with parittas recitation ceremony on Monday.

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U MyatKyaw, the Commander of North-west Command, departmental officials and donors attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Sayadaws and monks consecrated to the pagoda and recited parittas. The Regional Chief Minister and officials then donated offertories to Sayadaws and listened religious sermons from the Presiding Sayadaw of Yankin monastery in Monywa and then shared the merits.

Later, the Chief Minister and party attended the 1st rice offering ceremony organized by the Sagaing Region Government to 1000 sanghas and monks.

The Chief Minister, the Commander, the Region Chief Justice, the Regional Ministers, departmental officials and well-wishers offered rice to sanghas and nuns.

The Chief Minister and party then viewed offering of rice by departmental officials and well-wishers. At the ceremony, rice was offered to 255 monasteries and 38 nunneries in ChaungOo, Ayadaw, Butalin and Monywa townships.
