Kathina robe offering: MoRC held Kathina robe offering ceremony

The 17th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture staff families was held at the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw at 9:30 AM on November 4th with the attendance of 9 invited members of Sangha led by the Presiding Sayadaw of Abayarama monastery Baddanta Kinsana, the Union Minister U Ko Ko and wife, deputy ministers and wives and senior officials and staff members of the ministry.

The congregation led by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture observed five precepts administered by the Presiding Sayadaw of Abayarama monastery and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Next, the Union Minister and wife offered Kathina robe and offertories to the Kathina robe recipient Abayarama monastery’s Presiding Sayadaw of Pyinmana Township and InTaingThar monastery of Lewe Township, the deputy ministers and wives also offered Kathina robe and offertories to the presiding Sayadaws of Mahawizitayon monastery and Shwe-U Daung (Upper monastery) Sayadaw.

And the permanent secretary and directors general also offered the Kathina robe and offertories to the members of Sangha. After taking the sermon relating to the offering Kathina robe given by Mahawizitayon monastery presiding Sayadw, the congregation shared themerits gained and the ceremony was concluded.
