Bamboo Products: Good demand in local and int’l markets

The bamboo planting has started in Myanmar since 2014 and 2015 and now the bamboo handicrafts and furniture are mostly used because of good demand in the market.

Myanmar Bamboo Society is conducting bamboo products, bamboo furniture making course and bamboo handicraft course. In 2014 and 2015, Myanmar Bamboo Society grew about 3000 bamboo plants.

The bamboo markets and the production of bamboo-related products are gradually expanding. The bamboo charcoal market also becomes increased and the bamboo distilled liquid getting from making bamboo charcoal becomes used in agricultural tasks.

The farmers like the bamboo distilled liquid because it supports high yield of the crops. The bamboo household goods such as hats, bowls, baskets and bamboo handicrafts become popular and good demand.

Bamboos are the fastest growing plant and they are easy to grow. Generally, it can’t be difficult for raw materials if the bamboo products are made. As the bamboo products are good demand in local and international markets, the bamboo growing and making of bamboo-related products are good prospects in the business.
