











In honour of the 102nd Myanmar Motion Picture Day, a series of ceremonies took place at Myanmar Motion Picture Organization in Yangon on Thursday.
During the ceremony to present the Motion Picture Life Time Achievement Award, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said 13th October 1920, the day on which the film “Myitta Hnit Thura” screened at the cinema, was designated as the Myanmar Motion Picture Day.
On this significant day, two veteran artists will be presented the Life-Time Achievement Award for their outstanding performance for Myanmar movie industry. The Union Minister added that the government is implementing for development of the motion picture industry.
He called for cooperation for all concerned persons from the movie industry to maintain the good traditions Myanmar motion picture history while striving for development of the sector.
It was followed by the presenting of Life Time Achievement Awards to Academy Nyunt Win and Academy Aung Lwin. The awards include the Academy Golden Statues with 5 ticals gold star.
The Union Minister and party later unveiled the Myanmar Motion Picture Museum. The Vice Chairman (1) of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization explained the history of the museum and renovation measures.
The ceremony continued with paying respect to the elders. During the ceremony, 5 million kyats donated by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and the Prime Minister, 3 million kyats by the Union Minister and staff families, 15 million kyats by the Chief Minister of Yangon Region and donors and 7.35 million kyats by Forever Group Com., Ltd were presented to the Patrons and the Executive Committee members.
