



The Government Peace Talks Team and the New Mon State Party (NMSP) peace delegation held the 2nd round of peace talks on Wednesday in Nay Pyi Taw.
Member of the State Administration Council (SAC), Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and leader of the Peace Talks Team Union Minister at the Government Office (1) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naung, Vice-Chairman of the New Mon State Party Nai Aung Min, Central Executive Committee member Nai Banyar Lei and Central Committee member Nai M Saik Chan attended the meeting at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center.
The Peace talks began with remarks by leader of the Peace Talks Team Union Minister at the Government Office (1) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Vice-Chairman of the New Mon State Party Nai Aung Min.
The Government Peace Talks Team clarified the list of Union legislation-Table 1 and the list of regional or state legislation-Table 2 in the Constitution of the Republic of the Republic of Myanmar (2008) and also processes to be discussed for the period beyond 2020 in line with decision made in the 9th JICM meeting and implementation process Table 2.
The two sides exchanged views on the processes. They also reviewed decisions made in the 1st round of the peace talks. The 2nd round of peace talks between the Government Peace Talks Team and the New Mon State Party (NMSP) peace delegation is set to take place on the 13th of October.
