

The Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided a total of over 2,689 million kyats to 60 youth development ParahitaGayhar, 88 Homes for the Aged, 10 women centers, 11 disability centers, 1,561 self-reliant primary schools, 14 voluntary primary night schools and 6 youth centers in Nay Pyi Taw Council, regions and states during 2nd 3-week for 2022-2023 fiscal year. The cash donation ceremony was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine said that supporting and cooperating with volunteering organizations include in the activities of the Department of Social Welfare. Cash and technical assistances are provided with aim to systematically establish centers by volunteering organizations in recognition of taking social responsibility on behalf of the state.
The Union Minister called for the centers that have been granted for establishing to follow the minimum standards of caring and protection in accordance with the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare to have full access to human rights for individuals who have been taken care in the centers. Later, the Deputy Minister gave a speech and Heads of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Region/State Social Welfare Departments handed over the cash assistance to an official.
Moreover, the Union Minister addressed the opening of Gender, CEDAW and UNSCR 1325 awareness online training through Hybrid system. A total of 30 trainees and middle level officers from 8 Departments under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation are attending the course which is held for 2 days.
