Tradition & Culture Preservation: Awards To 23rd Performing Arts Competition Winners

Awarding ceremony for the Yangon Region 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition took place on Wednesday afternoon.

The awarding ceremony at the regional government office’s theatre hall was attended by the patron of the organizing committee for the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and many other concerned officials as well as contestants and guests.

In his address, the Chief Minister praised the diligence and efforts of the contestants which will pave the way for State-level competitions and urged younger generations of fine artistes to keep making efforts to preserve the prestige and integrity of the nation with their talents.

Also, Yangon Region Advocate-General U Htay Aung gave words of thanks. The awarding ceremony continued with screening the recorded video clips of the competition and giving a performance with a competition song. And, the Chief Minister and officials presented awards to winners of the Yangon Region 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition. A total of 737 contestants participated in the Competition, and 111 gold medals, 69 silver medals and 59 bronze medals were awarded to winners.
