







Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than inspected Plastic Factory (Kyaukse) in Kyaukse Industrial Zone of Mandalay region on Sunday.
The Industry produced the bags needed for local cement factories in the past but now the cement factories did not use the bags produced by the plastic factory (Kyukse) and so the production process of the factory were suspended.
During the inspection, the Union Minister said that in the past, state-owned factories were built for the purposes of getting employment and income and regional development.
For the development of private sector and boosting local production, it will more benefit if the factory is operated in cooperation with private. In accord with increasing domestic production, it will gain benefits such as substituting foreign imports, reducing foreign currency usage, acquiring technology, creating jobs for the locals and development of measures related to the factory.
Plastic factory (Kyaukse) was established in 2001 and the production processes were conducted commercially starting from 2004 and cement bags were produced.
The Union Minister then proceeded to Home Utilities Factory (Min Su) which is manufacturing hospital beds and called for arrangements for producing quality materials for the long-term durability, minimizing wastages in manufacturing materials, capacity building for the staff and drafting production plans, purchasing raw materials and related materials in line with procedures for manufacturing processes.
The Union Minister then viewed around manufacturing of hospital beds and other hospital materials. Home Utilities Factory (Min Su) is manufacturing variety of household steel items, hospital furniture, surgical equipment, steel pipes and various kind of plastic items that are demand in local.
These products are put on sale at the showrooms of the Ministry and the factory is also manufacturing the items as the favorite designs of the Ministry/Organization and private entrepreneurs.
