Tomb found in Peru may be 3,000 years old

Peruvian and Japanese archaeologists have discovered a tomb believed to be the resting place of ancient Peruvian religious leader which dates back 3,000 years.

The discovery of the burial chamber by the Pacopampa Archaeological Project in the district of Querocoto, Cajamarca region, is believed to belong to an important priest who was about 35 years of age.In the tomb were also offerings including necklaces made out of small and large beads of sea shells, as well as bright green rocks.The Ministry of Culture of Cajamarca said nine "pututos," or musical instruments made out of sea shells were also found.It has been researched for 17 years by a mission of archaeologists from the National Major University of San Marcos in Peru and the Ethnological Museum of Japan, and the accompaniment of the Ministry of Culture of Peru.
