Electric Power Sector: Meeting with officials from Industrial Zones held

A coordination meeting on the status of electricity supply to the industrial zones in Yangon Region was held at the Office of Yangon Region Government in the morning on 13th August.
The meeting was attended by the Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, members of Yangon Region Government, Chairman of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation, departmental officials and the responsible officials from the industrial zones.
At the meeting, the Union Minister explained the efforts putting by the ministry to fulfill the rising demand for electricity supply in the households and in the industrial zones applying multiple ways from the available sources including solar power and wind power.
The upgrading of infrastructure is being carried out to fulfill the requirements. Only then the state can fulfill the electricity demand sufficiently, the country’s economy will develop, the entrepreneurs from the industrial zones need to report the difficulties facing so than the ministry can help and solve the problems.
Next, the managing director of Electric Power Generation Enterprise, Director-General of the Department of Power Transmission and System Control, Chairman of Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation and the responsible persons from the industrial zones reported the status of generation of electric power, the power transmission conditions, status of electric power supply, implementation for the investment in the electric power sector and the electric power requirements.Regarding with the reports, the Union Minister and Chief Minister coordinated necessaries and the union minister gave a speec of conclusion, it’s reported.
