Drugs seized: 220 kilogrammes of ketamine seized in Shan State

A total of 220 kilogrammes of ketamine (an estimated value of 2.86 billion Kyats) were confiscated in Naung Cho Township, Shan State (North), according to the Myanmar Police Force.

A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force spied on the suspicious parked oil boxer near milepost 79/4 on Mandalay-Lashio Road in Naung Cho Township, Shan State (North) at about 7 p.m. on August 1st.

While under the spying, the boxer appeared to be driven to the direction of Kyaukme at about 3:30 p.m. on August 4 and the combined team pulled over and inspected the oil boxer at the top of Goke Twin Bridge. Min Zaw Oo and Chan Myay Zaw onboard on the oil boxer and Aung Aung on a motorbike were found and a total of 220 kilogrammes of ketamine (an estimated value of 2.86 billion Kyats) were confiscated from the oil boxer.

The suspects have been arrested under the Law and perpetrators of the crime chain are being investigated and identified, it is learnt.
