21st ACCSM: Chairman of UCSB attended 21st ACCSM and related meetings

Under the invitation of Minister of Home Affairs of Viet Nam Mrs. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, in his capacity as the 2021-2022 rotated chair of ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters (ACCSM), Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board U Than Swe arrived back Yangon on Sunday morning after attending the meeting for The Heads of Civil Service for the 21stACCSM and the Sixth Heads of Meeting for the 21st ACCSM Plus Three which have been held on 3-5 August.

During the trip, the meetings have been conducted on 3rd and 5th August, with the theme of “Modernizing Civil Service toward a Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN Community” and on 4th August, Forum on Good Governance with the theme of “Renovation of Civil Servants Training and Upgrading for Building Capacity and Meeting International Integration Requirements”.

During the meetings, the Heads of Civil Service discussed matters regarding the civil service affairs particularly and confirmed upon the implementations of individual countries under the ACCSM Work Plan (2021-2025) and ACCSM Plus Three Work Plan (2021-2025), enhanced the cooperation and collaboration with plus there countries of China, Japan and Korea, reviewed on the recommendations and decisions concerned with ACCSM and other related meetings, exchanged views upon the cooperation of ACCSM Framework Strategic Partnership, made discussing on the plan of follow-up actions to the “Declaration on fostering the civil service’s adaptability to the new challenges” and then, shared information of challenges and achievements experienced within each organization of the respective Member States, exchanged views on the follow-up activities and cooperation with the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC), ASEAN Dialogue Partner and then, conducted the ceremony for handover of alternative Chairmanship of 22nd ACCSM to Brunei Darussalam and reporting its preparations for the ACCSM and other related meetings during its term by the Head concerned.

Also the Heads of Civil Service and delegates had made site visits during the trip to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnologyin Hanoi, presenting at the dinner and exchanging gifts and souvenirs.

Then, Heads of Civil Service of ASEAN and Plus Three countries paid courtesy call with the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Pham Binh Minh of the Vietnamese Government.

U Than Swe, Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, arrived back Yangon alongside other three delegates.
