COVID-19 Update: 12 new COVID-19 cases reported on August 5

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 12 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 6,174 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 27 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,170 with 19,434 deaths and 592,970 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Russian Federation and Turkey, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:26pm CEST, 5 August 2022, there have been over 579 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.4 million deaths.
