Education Sector: Meeting With Higher Education Department Officials

Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe presided over a coordination meeting with officials from the Higher Education Department via video conferencing. In his address, the Union Minister expressed words of thanks to the officials for their efforts for reopening of universities, colleges and schools.

He also called on them to make continuous efforts for research. Each department has to make at least 3 research works and send the estimated cost for the research by August. Management and financial training course for pro rectors will be opened in August and teaching training for newly appointed tutors in September.

The Union Minister also called on attendees to manage university, college and school buildings construction process. This meeting continued with Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint making discussions on matters including correcting the statistics, keeping archival photographs, organizing sports events, reviewing and designing university curricula in connection with the Grade 12 curriculum, writing research papers in international and domestic research journals and opening of the Nay Pyi Taw State Academy.

Also, Deputy Minister U Zaw Win, permanent secretary and directors-general discussed promotion and transfer in an orderly and fast manner, refresher courses and supplemental nutrition.
