Preserving traditional culture: Magway Education Degree College holds MTCPAC

Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition and awarding ceremony of Magway Education Degree College was held on Tuesday and Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the ceremony.

First, the ceremony was opened with a performance by students of the Degree College with the song "Beauties of Magway District".On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Myanmar is home to diverse national races and they possess their own traditions and customs.

In line with one of the social objectives of the State Administration Council, “To respect and promote the customs and traditions of all National peoples and preserve and safeguard their cultural heritage and national characteristics”, Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition is held again with the aim for preserving Myanmar traditional culture and customs.

He called on the students to strive for all-round development of the State with earnest efforts while preserving national prestige and cherishing Myanma Traditional cultural arts. Later, the contestants competed with the songs of Higher Education level (Male/Female) oldies and Higher Education level (Male/Female) national prestige songs.

Later, students from Magway Degree College, contestant students and teachers entertained with the songs.The Chief Minister and the state cabinet ministers presented certificates of honour and cash awards to winning students. The Chief Minister also presented 1 million kyats for those who took part in the competition.
