







Directorate of Hotels and Tourism will implement to develop the eco-tourism sector in Thaepyintaw village with the aims to attract more local and foreign visitors in the future.
The village is located near Bagan Archaeological Zone and it is rich in Myanmar’s ancient cultural heritage.
There are over 200 households in the village, and have been a lot of interesting things for visitors to study and visit.
Myo Min Aung, Assistant Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Bagan) said "We have chosen to implement to develop the tourism sector in Thaepyintaw village which is located near Bagan. In the village, there is a lake that has 12 tiers. The lake was built for the villagers to have sufficient water supply and it is also a unique attraction for tourists. The main businesses of this village are arts and crafts, climbing palm, and blacksmith. The villagers also engage in cultivating peanuts, beans and sesame according to the season. Visitors can enjoy the scene of evening sunset from ShweNat mountain near the village and also pay homage to the ancient pagodas of Bagan."
Visitors to Thaepyintaw village can able to enjoy the beauties of nature and Ayeyawady River while paying homage to the ancient pagodas in Bagan.
