Illegal Trade: Illegal timber and goods seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

In total, on the 30th and 31st of July and the 1st of August, illegal timber and related things, foodstuffs, consumer goods, car parts, old clothes, Buddha images, industrial materials and a pair of DJI Drone were seized in Myeik Township of Tanintharyi Region, in Bago Region, at Phayagyi toll-gate, at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) checkpoint and at the Mandalay International Airport.

In total, illegal timber and goods worth over 86 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
