Funds Provision: Rural Development projects in Shan State

The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development provided funds for rural development in eastern Shan State.

In this funds provision ceremony in Kengtung Township, Chief Minister Dr. Kyaw Tun explained amount of funds to be provided and called for cooperation for rural development. Also, an official from the regional Department of Rural Development explained rural development projects in the area.

In the ceremony, for the fiscal year of 2022-2023, over 1.4 billion Kyats were provided for 113 villages under 5 projects including the Green Emerald, Village Revolving Fund, Village Development and Cash for Work.

After the funds provision ceremony, the Chief Minister and officials inspected construction of the Kyaing Phaung Bridge on the Meikhtila-Taunggyi-Kengtung-Tachileik Road, head report and gave necessary instructions. Also, the Chief Minister inspected the Kengtung bypass and bridges and heard reports before giving necessary instructions.
