Coordination Meeting: Implementation of Permanent Residence [PR] System

The Central Committee on Implementation of Permanent Residence [PR] System held its coordination meeting on Thursday at the Ministry of Immigration and Population in Nay Pyi Taw. 
In this meeting, Chairman of the Central Committee on Implementation of Permanent Residence [PR] System Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Khin Yi said that permanent residence permit system for foreigners is important for national development and is a method that helps a lot for the country to get foreign currency and develop long-term interests. 
Also, Secretary of the Central Committee explained conditions regarding the permanent residence permit for foreigners and scrutinization process. 
After the meeting, Chairman and members of the Committee met with 12 foreigners who applied for the permanent residence permit and their 9 family members and scrutinized the applications. It’s reported that in Myanmar, the Permanent Residence [PR] System began on the 19th of September 2012 and 648 foreigners were allowed to hold the permanent residence permit.
