



The graduation certificate and insignia were presented to local and abroad trainees who passed relevant (Buddha/Dhamma) courses of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU) for 2019-2020 and 2021-2022 academic years.
The presentation ceremony was held at the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University in Yangon on Wednesday in line with COVID-19 health guidelines.
The ceremony was graced by teaching Sayadaws led by Vice Chairmen of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and the Rector of the University, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, concerned officials and graduate trainees.
At the event, Rector Sayadaw Dr. Bhattanda Ashin Say Kaneda conferred insignia to 92 graduate trainees from local and abroad who passed in the respective courses. The Union Minister presented gold medals conferred by the Rector Sayadaw as the outstanding award to a Vietnamese nun and an Australian Lay person.
Theravada Buddhist Missionary University was established on 9th December 1998 and monks, nuns and lay persons from local and abroad are attending the Buddha/Dhamma courses.
The University has turned out a total of 2,284 Ph.D, M.A and B.A degree holders to date and in 2022-2023 academic year, 240 trainees from local and abroad are attending the courses.
