Maduro on efforts by US, France to rebuild ties

Venezuelan President Nicolás Madurowelcomed two separate events that signal interest from the US and France to rebuild ties with Venezuela. The delegation that arrived in Caracas includes Ambassador James Story, who heads the US government's Venezuelan Affairs Unit, said a State Department spokesperson on the condition of anonymity so as not to interfere with diplomatic discussions. The visit follows a surprise visit in March, the first White House trip to the county in more than two decades. Maduro said that Venezuela is ready to receive all the French companies that want to come to produce oil and gas for the European market.
