Peace Talks: SG receives a peace delegation led by ALP Vice Chair

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a peace delegation led by Vice Chair of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) Daw Saw Mra Razar Lin at the Bayint Naung villa in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

At the meeting, the Senior General said that Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) issued the first that they would come to the meeting with the intention for the benefits of the Union and the region in inviting peace talks.

The Senior General also clarified the strong and weak points of administrative forms that have been practiced in the successive eras of the country, Tatmadaw’s efforts to walk the path of multi-party democracy that is the people’s desire,  plans to find the solutions in details what should be done in accordance with the actual situation of the country, the demands of ethnic armed organizations and the real possibilities in the peace talks, re-invitation to NCA-signatories that have not yet come to the peace talks and the non-NCA signatories if they wish to come and discuss for the benefits of the state and the region, issues related to the implementation of multi-party democratic system in accordance with the desire of the people and building a Union based on democracy and federalism.

He also discussed that there will be political differences on the path to multi-party democracy but it needs to be solved peacefully and it must work together to build a peaceful union based on the Union spirit for the benefit of the country.

The Vice Chair of ALP and party said the support of ALP for the invitation of SAC Chairman the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services for the sake of the country and the people and also discussed plans for peace, stability and development of Rakhine State, practicing multi-party democratic system and their views on building a union based on democracy and federalism and reported on regional development.

They also exchanged views on matters on peace and regional development. After the meeting, the Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the ALP Vice Chair and party.

The ALP Vice Chair also gave in turn local gifts to the Senior General. The delegation led by the ALP Vice Chair will continue to make peace talks with the Peace Talks Team and the National Unity and Peace-making Coordination Committee formed with SAC members by the State Administration Council.

Also present at the peace talks were Council members General Mya Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and Lt-Gen Yar Pyae. The Vice Chairman of ALP was accompanied by Central Executive Committee members Khine Soe Mya and Khine Paw Lin.
