A brood of nine mallard ducklings that fell down a sewer were rescued Wednesday by grounds staff with the Architect of the U.S. Capitol. Pedestrians walking by couldn't resist looking at the baby ducks and watching staff use long poles with nets to scoop them up and lift them to safety. A staff member with the Architect of the Capitol told the Associated Press that the ducklings will be picked up by a wildlife agency in Washington D.C. and could eventually end up in a foster home.
