The leaders of Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) voiced their commitments to the alliance on Tuesday during the summit held in Tokyo.
Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida emphasized the need to show solidarity among the four countries to the international community as the global order has been shaken due to Russia's military operation in Ukraine.
The other three leaders – U.S. President Joe Biden, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese – agreed to strengthen a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the rule of law.
Biden said the Quad isn't "just a passing fad" and that there is a lot of work to be done to secure the peace of security of the Indo-Pacific region.
