Philly school district reinstates mask mandate

The US’s Philadelphia School District is reinstating a mask mandate for students and staff while in school buildings and on buses. The superintendent says the decision was based on rising COVID case counts and the city's recommendation to mask indoors.

The daily reported cases over the last 2 months have more than quadrupled. Philadelphia has a medium community level spread, compared to other counties that are seeing a high community level spread and where the CDC recommends masking indoors. Reaction from parents has been mixed.
