







Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win met with members of the Mandalay Region Government led by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko in Mandalay.

Necessary arrangements for the arrival of international flights at the Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay International Airports will be submitted and implemented to the Central Committee for the Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19.
It is necessary for the regional government to make necessary adjustments. As the private health care plays an important role in the public health care sector, it is important to strictly abide by the laws and regulations, adding that Mandalay Region has good immunization coverage in the target groups.
COVID-19 vaccines will be given to the people aged 15 and above to ensure full coverage of the vaccine in the target groups. The booster vaccine is being given to people aged 40 and above. He asked for the support when the school-based COVID-19 vaccination will be carried out when they are opened.
Immunization services for children under 5 years of age such as vaccinations against BCG, Polio, and measles are also being stepped up. The Union Minister added that public health preparations need to be made to prevent the spread of infectious diseases such as dengue fever during the rainy season.
The Mandalay Region Chief Minister said his government is working to clean and beautify the hospitals, and that students who attend medical and related universities, including the University of Nursing, are warmly welcomed and provided with necessary assistance.
Private hospitals and clinics will be monitored for compliance with the law, he added. Also, attendees discussed ways to make health work more effective in Mandalay Region. The Union Minister also met with the Rector and faculty members of the Traditional Medicine University (Mandalay).
