The awarding ceremony of Yadanapon Park opening and 2022 Mandalay City Maha Thingyan Water festival documentary photo contest was held at the Mandalay City hall on 21st April.
The event was aimed to reflect the emotional images of visitors in the water festival of Mandalay city and organized by Mandalay Region Government.
Tin Tun Oo (Head), Public Relations & Information Department, Mandalay City Development Committee said "We select an individual for a prize. Board of Judges selects prizes for photos depending on the subjects, ideas and positions. Mandalay City Development Committee has a plan to hold this kind of event in the next water festivals."
26 contestants took part in the documentary photo contest and each contestant competed with three photos in the contest. Five judges selected prizes for the photos.
Consolation Prize Winner said "I won consolation prize-2 in this contest. I had already got 1st prize in the contest of Myanmar Traditional Thingyan water festival entitled “Happily Participate in Man Thingyan festival” in 2012. I always participate in the contest and I am trying my best."
Altogether 8 prizes were presented and 500,000 kyats were awarded for the 1st prize, 400,000 kyats for the 2nd prize, 300,000 kyats for the 3rd prize and 200,000 kyats each for 5 consolation prizes in the photo contest.
