Civil Service Management: UCSB Opens Primary Officer Training Course

Under the supervision of the Union Civil Service Board (UCSB), Central Institute of Civil Service (Upper Myanmar) opened Basic Pre-Service Course for Civil Service Officers and post graduate diploma in Civil Service management No.9 on 20th April.

This training course aims to understand the laws, rules and regulations for the civil service officers and to follow the procedures, to be proficient in office works, public affairs and management skills,to know good governance, leadership concepts and administrative affairs and to study political, economic and social affairs from local and abroad, to have unity, friendship, cooperation and teamwork among them and to nurture good civil servants.

Win Win May, Professor, Head of Department, CICS (Upper Myanmar) said “As the trainees are civil service officers, the management subject is mainlytaught to them.  We train them to have good management skills and leadership in their field.  For trainees, we give lectures on related subjects such as economics and law as well as technology from the ICT department as a minor subject.”

Trainees from 20 Ministries are attending the course that will last 16 weeks.

Kyaw Thiha Soe, Trainee said “I am from Nay Pyi Taw and I hope a lot from this course. Because there is a lot of information that we have not learned before. It’s also a postgraduate diploma course and expects a lot of study. I will try to be the best.”

The training period is from 20th April to 5th August and 329 civil service officers who have passed the entry of gazette officer examination of UCSB are attending the course.
