Electricity and Energy: 3rd BIMSTEC Energy Minister's Meeting

3rd BIMSTEC Energy Minister's Meeting was hosted by Nepal on 20th April, and Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo joined the meeting virtually.

Nepalese Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Ms Phampha Bhusal chaired the meeting, and Electricity and Energy Ministers from BIMSTEC member countries; Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand discussed the implementations on development of electricity and energy sector, drafting the master plan for power connection, work undertakings of BIMSTEC Energy Center, and extended implementation of cross-border gas and power distribution among the member countries.

The meeting also approved the decisions of the third, forth and fifth BIMSTEC Senior Officers' Meeting and made a joint declaration by the Electricity and Energy Ministers of member countries.
