COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions And States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 18thof April, at TiLin Monastery in Kyaukme Township of northern Shan State, novices aged 15 and above received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, on the 19th of April, residents in 2 townships of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 12 townships of Rakhine State and Chin State, 7 districts of Mandalay Region and 3 townships of Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
