Illegal Trade: Illegal items worth over 242 million Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On April 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, illegal 40,924 kilogrammes of raw jade, 7.034 tonnes of illegal teak and over 13 tonnes of illegal timbers were seized in Kachin State, Rakhine State and Mon State.

In total, illegal items worth over 242 million Kyats were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
