Amnesty granted: 1,577 nationals and 42 foreigners granted amnesty

1,577 prisons were granted amnesty on 17th April according to the order, issued by the State Administration Council.

The amnesty was granted by the Council's Chairman as a gesture for auspicious Myanmar New Year period, and in the concept of humanitarian ground according to Section 401, Sub-Section(1) of the Criminal Code of Law.

Likewise, 42 foreign prisoners who are serving the prison terms at respective prisons, detention centers and correctional camps across the country were also granted amnesty and deported.
