Rice Offering: Ceremony at Bago Shwemawdaw Pagoda

The Bago Shwemawdaw Pagoda’s 2604th Buddha Puzaniya Ceremony has been taking place since the 10th of April.

This Ceremony included rice offering event. Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and officials joined the rice offering ceremony to 500 members of the Sangha from 460 monasteries.

Other offertories were also offered to the members of the Sangha. This 10-day Buddha Puzaniya Ceremony is set to take place till the 19th of April.

The Shwemawdaw Pagoda was originally built around the 10th century, C.E. It was destroyed several times due to earthquakes, including one in 1917 and another in 1930.
