COVID-19 Update: 47 new COVID-19 cases reported on April 15

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 47 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Friday after testing 4,776 lab specimens within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 72 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. As of 15th April, confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 612,527 with 19,434 deaths and 591,264 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
