Thingyan Akyat Day in Kachin State: Thingyan revelers take part water festival in Myitkyina

Thingyan revellers participated happily in the Akyat Day of Thingyan water festival in Myitkyina, Kachin State on 15th April and the water pandals and walking Thingyan were crowded with merry markers.

Kachin State Chief Minsiter U Khet Htein Nan, the Commander of Northern Command, the Chief Justice of the State High Court, the State Ministers and their wives, senior military officers and officials visited around the water pavilions and participated in the water festival.

On arrival at the water pandal of Myitkyina Airbase Headquarters, the Chief Minister and party enjoyed the entertainments of the Airbase Yein Troupes and took part the water festival together with the families of regiments and units.

The State Chief Minister and party then procceeded to Maha Thingyan water central pandal and enjoyed the entertainment programs and splashing water by the people.

They then visited Walking Thingyan in the People’s Square in Myitkyina and viewed water throwing and entertainment of songs and dances and participated in the festival together with the people. 

Simalarily, the Chief Minister and party enjoyed entertainments of Yein troupes amd music troupes and dance competitions at the central pandal on Thursday evening and presented cash.
