Myanmar celebrates a four-day-celebration of Thingyan Water Festival from 13th to 16th April with the opening of pandals across the country. On the Akyat Day of Thingyan on 15th April, it is crowded with Thingyan revelers at the pandals in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.

At Nay Pyi Taw Mayor Pandal, artists, vocalists and dance troupes staged entertainments to the revelers with songs and dances. Charity feasts are also treated to the performers and revelers.

At Yangon City Maha Thingyan Pandal, Thingyan songs and dances were entertained to the revelers by the artists and famous vocalists.

In Mandalay, dance troupes performed to the revelers while artists and vocalists staged songs and dances. Thingyan is a time for people to learn from the past and to look for the future.

During Thingyan, people enjoy throwing water to each other to ward off the misdeeds of the previous year and to bring good lucks and prosperity for the coming new year.
