COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions And States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 11thof April, residents in 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region, 11 townships of Rakhine State, 7 districts of Mandalay Region, 2 townships of Sagaing Region and2 townships of Shan Statereceived the COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
