
Schoolchildren in central Russia's Chuvashia region have begun singing the national anthem at the start of each day. The ritual was recently introduced in primary and secondary schools in Cheboksary city, some 435 miles east of Moscow, reportedly in order to enhance patriotic spirits among school-aged children.Local authorities launched the pilot project with schools under the name, "We have one Motherland."Before the ritual started on Wednesday, teachers told pupils about the history of the anthem and its meaning.
