COVID-19 Prevention: Vaccination Programme Continues In Regions And States

Ministry of Health has been conducting the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, regions and states for the disease prevention and control.

On the 4th and 5thof April, residents in 16 townships of northern Shan State, 2 townships of Yangon Region, 26 townships of Ayeyawaddy Region,7 townships of Rakhine State, 7 districts of Mandalay Region and 1 township of Bago Region received the COVID-19 vaccines.

Also, on the 2nd of April, hundreds of people taking shelter at IDP camps in Pauktaw Township of Rakhine State received the vaccines.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.

The Ministry of Health purchased millions of COVID-19 vaccines and also accepted millions donated by friendly countries.
