


A coordination meeting on preparation for resuming international tourism was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung said arrangements should be made to be smooth in operation for international tourists as international airlines will be allowed to resume regular flights on 17 April.
Hotels are also prepared in accordance with the Health and Safety Protocol to provide health and safety services ensuring the health and safety of tourists. The Union Minister stressed the need to issue local orders and directives to be followed by tourists on a prior basis.
Efforts must be made to provide a wide range of information that tourists should know. He urged that the state and region branch officials should discuss and make suggestions on the issues to be facilitated when international tourists visit Myanmar.
The Union minister said that all hotels and quarantine hotels in states and regions need to have the health and safety certification and set up information counters systematically in order to provide necessary information to tourists in real-time. He urged all to put the experiences of the health and safety training of the Ministry into practical services for the convenience of tourists.
