
The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 267 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 16,842 lab specimens within 24 hours. One patient has died due to the disease while 562 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 609,915 with 19,428 deaths and 566,375 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 22nd March, 2022, over 26 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 21.70 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 4.29 million people once. Therefore, over 47.70 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated.
The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russian Federation, Turkey, Italy and Spain, according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:51 pm CET on 23 March, there have been over 472 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.09 million deaths.
